What we do
Certified laser safety support for clinics and treatment providers using laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) systems in medical, aesthetic, and cosmetic settings.
Independent, practical guidance is provided to help clinics meet UK laser safety requirements, including local rules, risk assessment, safety documentation, staff protection measures, and preparation for council inspections.
Support is available for laser and IPL device selection, ensuring systems are appropriate for clinical use, treatment scope, and safety controls. Guidance is also provided for special treatment licence applications, helping clinics submit correct documentation that aligns with local authority expectations.
We offer an online Core of Knowledge Course which is accredited by BMLA and CPD. The Core of Knowledge can be done in your own time, at your own pace.

Good to know
Clinics are required by most councils to have a dedicated LPA. You can find out specifically what is required from you, depending on which borough you are located in, from your local Council.
An LPA will come to your venue to complete an on-site visit in which we will create a safety report including local rules and a risk assessment, required by the council, and advise on treatment rooms, devices and working practices to obtain your Special Treatment Licence.
Independent Laser Safety Support
I am a qualified Laser Protection Adviser and practising clinician, providing independent laser safety support for clinics using laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) systems.
I have over 15 years' experience in the aesthetics industry and work with clinics across London, Nottingham, Kent, and other locations across the UK. I am recognised by local authorities as an approved Laser Protection Adviser and provide support in line with council and regulatory requirements. I am also a member of the Association of Laser Safety Professionals (ALSP) and a VTCT lecturer, supporting training and education within the aesthetics sector.

The short answers on what an LPA does, whether you need one and how a visit works.
A Laser Protection Adviser is a qualified, independent laser safety specialist. An LPA visits your clinic to complete an on-site inspection, produces the safety report, Local Rules and risk assessment your council requires, and advises on treatment rooms, devices and working practices so you can obtain or renew your Special Treatment Licence.
Most councils require clinics using laser or IPL devices to have a dedicated LPA, and UK health and safety law requires a competent person to carry out risk assessments. The exact requirements depend on your borough, so check with your local council or contact us and we will advise.
One on-site visit per year. The certificate of LPA visit is valid for 12 months, and you have email access to your LPA for laser safety advice for the duration of the certificate.
All London boroughs, Nottingham, East Sussex, the Midlands, Darlington and the North East, and Kent, with other locations across the UK on request. Travelling time and expenses are included in the visit price.
